Renowable Energy - Repowering

     The wind farms will have to be re-promoted, that is to say, substitute the mills installed by more modern machines and of major power, from 10 years of functioning, so if it is done before, there would be necessary to load part of the costs of amortization in the reinvolution, which would reduce his economic profitability.

     It supposes a reduction in the necessary infrastructure with relation to a new park (minor economic and environmental cost), as well as the best utilization of the emplacements with major wind. In fact, the parks previous to 1998, count as average with some more 25-30 % of wind that the parks that nowadays are constructed, whereas the existing machines in these parks take advantage of less effectively the resource than the current models. Likewise, the technological improvement reached in the new machines that are going to be in use in the reinvolution, favors substantially the integration in the network of the produced energy, making the elimination possible of some of the current limitations of evacuation.

     Environmental incident: The substitution of the ancient machines for the new ones is going to suppose an environmental considerable improvement during the phase of functioning, since it is a question of an important reduction in the number of machines, that in addition they are more silent, they have a speed of minor draft, and also they reduce the direct occupation of soil for unit of power. It does not also imply new lines of evacuation and, if perhaps, the reinforcement of the current line with the establishment of any new driver, which does not suppose increase of any impact. The impact is going to diminish only the one that takes place during the phase of work. Nevertheless, we think that all the repotenciaciones should surrender to procedure of evaluation of environmental impact.
