Renowable Energy - Biomass
The biomass for energy is obtained for the most part of the industries of the first and second transformation of the agricultural and forest products, of the residues of cattle developments, of the remains of forest utilizations, of the residues of the cultures and also of cultures well-established and exploited with the only aim of the obtaining biomass. The above mentioned are named energetic cultures, but they do not stop being forest or agricultural cultures. The fundamental advantage of the cultures is the predictability of his disposition and the spatial concentration of the biomass, assuring the supply.
The predictability of the disposition of the raw material is fundamental for any industry, and that of the energy is not different. The concentration of the resource allows a mechanized, slightly intensive management in workforce, and relatively cheap.
The energetic cultures can qualify of many forms, for the type of soil where they grow, for the type of product that is harvested, etc. According to his final utilization, the cultures can qualify in:
· oleaginous Cultures for the production of transformable oils in biodiesel.
Biomass: energetic Cultures
· Cultures alcoholize us for the production of bioethanol from processes of fermentation of azúcares.
· lignocellulosic Cultures, for the generation of solid biomass capable of his use for different applications:
· Thermal, as air conditioning of buildings, warm sanitary water, and industrial applications (preparation of any fluid of process).
· Manufacture of more elaborated fuels, with an added value to the brute biomass, as splinters or pelets.
· Cogeneration generally associated with an industrial activity, or electrical simple generation.
- Obtaining biofuel of the second generation. The present document centres on the production of lignocellulosic biomass, as raw material for the preparation of the most elaborated fuels or for his direct as combustible utilization, with independence of the technology that is applied, for his conversion on available power. That is to say, the biomass that once harvested or withdrawal of the field is moved with or without compaction to an installation of industrial type in which it is transformed into a fuel of characteristics especificables, or it is transformed directly into heat and / or electricity.
The activities that treat each other here are, on the one hand, the cultures of traditional agricultural and forest species, but from the new optics of the production of biomass, instead of the traditional approaches of the food production or raw materials for industry. On the other hand, the culture of species treats itself with scanty application till now but that, as producers of biomass, are revealed of great interest.
It is not an object of this document the production of starchy or oleaginous raw material that takes as a destination the production of liquid biofuels, since bioalcohol or biodiesel.
